CONTEXT
UNYQ with headquarters in San Francisco is an additive manufacturing focused producer of biometric wearables. UNYQ employs photogrammetry, digitization, mass customization, 3D printing and cognitive systems to enhance device functionality in products such as prosthetic covers and scoliosis braces.
IKEA is a Swedish-origin, Dutch-headquartered multinational group that designs and sells ready-to-assemble furniture, kitchen appliances and home accessories, among other useful goods and occasionally home services. IKEA quote about burgeoning gaming demographic:
“There are about 2 billion gamers around the world and that group needs functional ergonomic, tailored furniture for their everyday lives. The purpose of the new furniture collection is to explore how personalization and home decoration can change the lives of all gamers out there”
UNYQ and IKEA approached Carbon to explore the possibility of using Carbon’s additive manufacturing technique DLS to produce accessories for gamers.

"It's actually striking how unexplored this part of the gaming industry is. Focus has always been on the hardware, and everything else has been ignored", said Tommy Ingemarsson, founder and CEO @areaacademy. This Swedish eSports group were our user group for testing and feedback.
After some analysis of gaming posture during practicing, streaming, or competing, it is apparent that there are some trends in how gamers position themselves and play for hours at a stretch.
